Adding hatches in V11

Anyone Tried to add hatches to the end of their default.pat file in Windows Vista?  I am having trouble figuring out how to resave the changes as a .pat file.  I am only given the option to save as a .txt file.  Can I save the file as a .txt file and then convert it to a .pat?

    You should be able rename the .txt file to a .pat file.  What file editor are you using to edit the files?
