Few Quick Questions
I may be making the move over to Briscad for a business start up I may get involved in and have a few questions I can't find answers for.
1. Is the licensing similar to AutoCAD where a user may install 1 license on a desktop and laptop for the specific user?
2. I can not find any commad similar to AutoCAD's data extraction which is used a lot to get accurate device quantities for calculations and cover sheets?
3. The Briscad export to pdf is horrible is there any way to have my prints come out good on pdf? We will be doing design services for contractors and engineering firms and will need to provide a pdf they can print the drawing sets from.
Everything else I use appears to be working but these are issues that will push me to Autodesk for this possible venture.

For #3 we use a third party pdf printer driver. Bluebeam does lines merge but it is not free. Cutepdf is a free driver that works well.

For #2 you could try http://lee-mac.com/blockcounter.html

Question 1 might be best directed to Bricsys via 'store' > 'contact us'.
Not sure about 2/. I made my own lisp for extracting Attribute data, which I had before changing from R13 to Intellicad98.
Some use a 3rd party PDF creator for electronic prints. I use PDF995 which installs and looks to the system just like another printer. It works really well for me.
I believe you can still use it for free, I paid the nominal $20 (from memory) - it's only fair to pay such a humble price. I can print from anywhere to a PDF, not just from Bricscad.

Hi Bob,
For #2, you can also use a third party productivity enhancement tool like GeoTools.
These URL's might help you throw some light on what the related data extraction commands are:
Global attribute extraction: http://www.4d-technologies.com/geotools/manual/block_tools.htm#ATTEXTGlobal extraction of block attribute structure (tags) : http://www.4d-technologies.com/geotools/manual/block_tools.htm#TAGEXT
Global extraction of point and lines data : http://www.4d-technologies.com/geotools/manual/export_tools.htm#IMPEX
Global extraction of text data into ASCII files: http://www.4d-technologies.com/geotools/manual/text_tools.htm#TXT2FILE
Global extraction of XDATA into ASCII files: http://www.4d-technologies.com/geotools/manual/xdata_tools.htm#XD_EXTRACT
and more specific extraction tools like polyline structure, etc.
Hope this is of some use.
