Large File Sizes
Will the new versions of ICAD due out in next 2-4 weeks handle a larger number of dwgs? Eg at the moment anything over 3Mb is really slow.I think there was a similar posting here about someone trying to use a 10mb file. This needs to be fixed so that people can feel more comfortable and confident with Icad. However I do agree that problems such the UNDO command should be fixed first.AV

Especially if you, like me, have several files open at once. Dont forget to purge. I come across drawings that have dozens of unused blocks, layers, fonts, and line types (and of course those darn DEFPOINTS) all doing nothing but adding to file size. Often over 25%.Jef

We are using 512 MB memory in all of our CAD stations with IC2000.......even 100MB CAD files(not uncommon in architects and civil drawings) do not slow the system down...memory is cheap human time is expensive

the speed depends on the kind of drawing.there is a lot of slowing down in paperspace, when viewports are used, in isometric view and a few other cases. We're changing the code now to eliminate this. This means that in some drawings/views that are currently very slow, there will a large speeding up. Then we'll have to see what the next big performance problem is. regards, sander
