v12 info

Has anyone heard what the price is for upgrading from V11pro to V12pro? My superiors were wanting me to look into Solidworks or Inventor but this will be far cheaper. Glad to see that Brics is getting some serious 3D toys added to the mix.

  • Is there a link to a public beta?  I would love to try out some of these new features.

I think this is an exciting direction that the program is headed.

  • Normally we will release V12 on Wednesday October 13. Prices stay the same as for V11. I'm sure you'll like the new Variational Direct Modeling in V12 and the new Quad interface. Honestly, 3D modeling has never been that intuitive. And trust us, this is just the start

  • Can't wait.  The videos from the conference look amazing.

  • Looking forward to trying it out. I'm excited that Brics is venturing out into the mechanical realm. I know it's way too early, but maybe they can add some sheet metal functions to the mix. It would be great to be able to model a sheet metal cone and then generate flat layouts automatically, all within the same program.

  • Tim, look in the store under "Support and Extras" at the bottom of the page.  The "All-In Subscription" is what you are interested in.  As long as you have a current subscription you get all the updates for the current version as well as an upgrade to the next version on the same tier.  ie V11Pro --> V12 Pro; V11Classic --> V12 Classic etc

  • got a link to the video?

  • please forgive the double post.

I found a video of the demo on youtube.

    Wow!

but i have to ask, does this break any dwg compatibility?

  • No it doesn't break any compatibility with .dwg, and that is probably as strong as an achievement as the beauty of the solution. And this is just the start. Tomorrow we release V12 (on October 12 - mnot Oct. 13 as I mentioned earlier). Please let us know your findings, also about the new Quad. Here at Bricsys everybody get addicited to it, but always interested in other opinions.

    Best regards,     erik

  • @Tim.

In regards to sheet metal who knows whether Bricsys will do this or not in the future. What is exciting is that developers will have full use of these features through the API, so while Bricsys may not, there is nothing stopping a 3rd party developer from creating this feature, or others.
