BricsCad Abruptly Shut Downs

BricsCad Linux v10 and v11 with Ubuntu.  Big problem. Rapid unwanted shut downs without saving drawing.

Happened 4 times in past 45 minutes]

Sequence of commands before shut down:

PLINE

JOIN

[Selected 2 polyline segments]

<ENTER>

<ESC>

<ESC>

[Clicked Drawing with Mouse]

[BricsCad shut down without saving drawing]

I also can not opening Firefox after this happens. I get a Firefox error message saying something about a window(?) being open already.

PLEASE HELP.

Comments

  • JOIN doesn't work on polylines, do you mean:

    PEDIT; JOIN ?

    Why twice ESC?

    Try to use recover on the drawing if the problem persists.

    I also experienced the web browser suddenly coming up with the help page, or hanging (probably)  trying to open it when Bricscad had crashed - but I couldn't track down the circumstances enough to file a support request.

  • Yes you are correct. PLINE; JOIN

    <ESC> <ESC> is unnecessary. It's an old habit from the early days of AutoCad when double escapes were needed all too frequently.

    I also noticed that right after <ESC><ESC> the cursor did not change back to default. As soon as i clicked the drawing area, BricsCad shut down.

  • Sorry. I wrote PLINE again. I meant PEDIT.

    I can not reproduce this error every time. without trying I got 5 shut downs in an hour.

    I'll try to keep track of my commands to give you better facts.
