Dimensions in paperspace V12
Hello,
Has anyone trouble with Dimensionlines in paperspace V12?
I usualy draw my dimensionlines in Paperspace, so that the text is all equal. In pervious versions no problem. In V12 I can draw them and thats it, I cannot select or modify the lines.
Is it a bug in my system or has anyone else experienced it also?
very difficult to work with...

I can confirm this: it's a bug. If you open a dwg with 'locked' dimensions in BC11 the problem goes away. It is a strange problem: it seems to depend on entities around the dimensions. The problem also occurs in model space. I'll file a SR with a sample dwg and suggest you do the same.

Roy, will do so.
Indeed. in V11 one can modify the dimensions.
However, sometimes one can select a dimensionline, but not always and not every time the same one.
Haven't tried it in Modelspace. I'll take your word for it.

This is a bug indeed. We apologize for this inconvenience, we are working on a fix and will post an update release in the coming days.

Hi Sander.
Could you please tell me how you deal with different scales in paper space? I used to measure in paper space when I worked with AutoCAD, but with Bricscad I had an issue and made this SR some time ago:
"When I worked with AutoCAD, I used to draw dimensions in Paper Space. This way, you only need to set up one style and, by just copying it and modifying Unit parameters, you can draw dimensions in all the different scales you have in your viewports, for all the 'geometry' of the style will remain the same.
For instance, if I draw in meters and have a viewport with a 1:1 scale, I will get dimensions in meters. If I want to get them in centimeters, all I have to do is change 'Dim scale linear' to 100. This also works in Bricscad, but with random errors: sometines you will get '2' instead of '200' (cm). When this occurs, you need to use 'Apply dimension style' on the wrong measure to put it right.
Even sometines dimensions that have been corrected will turn wrong again after closing and opening the drawing.
I haven´t seen this behaviour in Model Space."The answer was:
"...your use case doesn't work in bricscad at all. Only by coincidence it gave the results you expected.
If you selected the cm dimstyle, you had to snap your first dim point on the entity in the viewport and not on another dimension. Then by coincidence the DIMFLAC for the dimension was set to 100 because the scale factor of the viewport is 1/100 and not because the DIMLFAC of the dimstyle was 10000.
If you selected the m dimstyle, you had to snap your first dim point on another dimension and not on the entity in the viewport. In that case the dimension was not associated with the viewport and DIMFLAC was never updated for the dimension. The measurement was a measurement in paper space, but by coincidence the scale factor of the viewport is 1/100 resulting in an apparent measurement in meters and not because the DIMLFAC of the dimstyle was 100.
We were unaware of this use case in acad, so this new feature will have to be implemented. It has been scheduled."I use Bricscad v11, but have also checked this with v12.
Thanks.

Hello Dasio.
I don't use different scales in Paperspace, always measure in mm. Sometimes i have the same problem measuring ip paperspace -> then its nott measuring the desired opbject, but points ont the paperspace. I delete it ans measure again, or use the brush tot match properties with the ones who are correct. This is in my opinion a small bug i can live with. (hope BC will fix it of course ;-))

Well, there´s two different things: scale of the viewport and units of measure. In any case you´ll get the bug, for the variable 'Dim scale linear' is involved. I usually use 'Apply Dimension Style' to correct measures, but even then they might turn wrong again after closing and reopening.
I expect this will be fixed soon, I´ve had bad experiences in my job because of it.

Dimensions and notes in pspace are a pain for any next person who has to work on the file. Various CAD standards often ban the practice.
Our state government disallows pspace outright in its contracts. It's a totally backward overreaction, but we probably have this largely to thank for it.
