DWG file structure

I want to count defined entities, can anyone please post an explanation/direction regarding the design and structure of .a dwg file
could lisp fetch my selected entities/blocks and generate a database to be imported by, say, excel ?

    Use an AutoLisp routine. It would be absolutely miserable to try to parse the DWG manually when Bricscad already does it for you. If you need help writing such a routine, send me an email drdanielfc@gmail.com
