I had considerable issues with crss.exe using alot of processor time when running Bricscad (V11 and V12), I was using Windows classic theme and had a Display Link usb device attached for one of my screens. Tech support had no help for this. Did not happen with progrecad which I downloaded to try out.
Turns out after looking around on Display Link forums that this was likely due to the theme, I enabled Windows Aero theme (which allows for graphic calls to be handled by the GPU I guess) and the problem has gone away. I think the difference to Progrecad is they dont use Mtext editing in place, which is where the issue seemed to start.
So, for anyone using one of these adapters (the most common base hardware for usb display adapters) with Win 7 and Bricscad--use the Aero theme in Windows 7.
