Image visabiltiy

I have a clients title block with their logo as a paintbrush pic embedded. This is visible and editable in Autocad and Draftsight but doesn't even acknowledge in Bricscad? I'm running V12 platinum.

  • Hi James,

You may need to provide more details to determine the cause. The most obvious one to check would be what you have OLEHIDE set to. You can use the SETTINGS command to check (see screen grab attached). Value for OLEHIDE is saved in the registry, not in the drawing. This means you could have it turned on in AutoCAD and off in Bricscad.

Also attach a drawing with images embedded from Paint using a variety of options. Done using AutoCAD and Briscad. I had no issue with doing this in either application, and it printed fine too.

  • Thanks for the input Jason, I must be missing something cause no matter how I seem to engage the OLEHIDE settings I can't get Bricscad to show or even acknowledge there's an image in the the drawing. See attached screenshots one with Bricscad V12-no image one in Draftsight-image?

  • Hi James,

It would appear that Bricscad doesn't take any notice of the OLEHIDE setting. Checked it in both V11 & V12 and it has no affect on visibility. It should work, certainly does in AutoCAD.

    Other things to try:
    • Run Bricscad with a new clean profile. You can do this by closing Bricscad down, then running the User Profile Manager from the start menu. Create a new profile, then double click on it to launch Bricscad. If the you can open the drawing without issue, then it must be something related to your original profile.
    • Uninstall and re-install Bricscad. Also check that you are installing the latest version.

If this doesn't work, I would raise a support request with Bricsys.

  • Jason, I checked the drawings in V11-sure enough it works. Thanks for the help. I'll try the V12 profile rework.
