Paste's far away in the drawing space
Anyone else find that when you copy and paste, when you paste something, it doesn't paste on the bit of the drawing your working on, but far away on the drawing so you have to zoom out looking for it, then move it back? Despite clicking paste then right clicking where you want it to paste. Also no paste option when you right click on mouse after copying something

The correct procedure is to use the left mouse button to pick a point. Using the RMB will cancel a part of the paste operation leaving the pasted objects stranded somewhere.
Also no paste option when you right click on mouse after copying something.
Check your SHORTCUTMENU setting. Be default it is 2 (I think) maybe you would prefer 3.0 -
...stranded somewhere.
Make that: pasted to the original coordinates.0 -

I think you are mixing up two different commands: COPY and COPYCLIP. I understand your confusion because both commands are named COPY in the right click context menu. The COPY command is used to copy entities in the current drawing, while COPYCLIP (copy to clipboard) is used to copy entities between drawings. Please read the topic 'Copying Entities' in the Bricscad Help under User Guide / Modifying Entities to learn more about how to copy entities.0 -
Louis, Roy,
Thank you for this advice, it was very helpful, I have set shortcutmenu to 3, and now I can right click and paste. It is much better. Also I have been playing with the setting below the command bar, and now it is not pasting objects really far away in the model space, but where I left click. also when i paste, the object i am pasting is visible under the cursor, where as before it wasn't. I don't know how changing the settings under the comand bar helped, but it has fixed it. I have been adjusting from using Autocad, thanks for your help, this forum is very useful.

@ Stephen:
My first hunch: the receiving drawing has a different INSUNITS setting.0 -
