Supported Import Format

Hello I am a 3d modeler working in Autodesk Maya/3ds Max and am trying to pass a project off to an engineer working in Bricsys.  I'm wondering what sort of file formats Bricsys can import?  I'm also wondering if anyone has any tips for working with files sent between these programs so that the engineer will be able to get up and running as quickly as possible. I am able to export to DWG and about a dozen other formats from 3DS Max.  Thanks for any information you can send along.

  • Hi Lucas,

Bricscad reads/writes natively to .DWG format, so I would try that as a first option. Bricscad can also import/export ACIS solids (.SAT) via the ACISIN and ACISOUT commands. There are also third part options to import/export in other file formats. Take a look at Data Exchange in the Applications area.
