VAT Exemption/Rebate?

My apologies in advance if this is not the correct forum for this question, but is there any way to avoid the ~20% VAT on the purchase/upgrade of BC?

I live in the US and it's my understanding that the VAT is only intended for products/services used in the EU.

Indeed VAT is only applied in EU, so in our e-store no taxes are added outside EU.
