Obliques from dimensions showing when relevant layer turned off
Does anyone know how to solve this issue? When I turn a layer off the obliques in the dimensions in that layer remain visible (without the dimensions showing). If I also turn the Dim Plan layer off the obliques do not show. However, I want to be able to leave the Dim Plan layer on.
Would appreciate any help.

Hi Jonathan,
I would check how the oblique marker has been defined for your particular dimension style. I suspect that you may be using a drawing that is using a user defined block for the arrow head, rather than the built in ones. If this user block has been defined on a layer other than 0 it could present you with this issue.
You can check a dimensions property by using the property bar (ctrl + 1), and then look under the lines and arrows section. If it is set to User Arrow instead of oblique, then you are using a custom arrow type. If this is the case you will want to change the dimension style _DIMSTYLE to change the arrow to an internally defined one.

Thanks Jason.
I am not using user defined arrow, it is a Dimension Style "Oblique". I created a new layer (Roof) and then did the relevant dimensions in that layer. I can remove the obliques by turning off the Dim Plan layer, despite the dimension being created in the Roof layer.
Have just discovered that if I freeze the Roof layer rather than turning it off the obiques do not show.
Does that make sense?

Jason's explanation may well apply. If you choose "oblique" for the dim arrows, the block "_OBLIQUE" is used. And it is possible to change the definition for that block.0
