Circles won't draw at zero z

 Anyone one else having this problem, if I draw a circle it always comes in at 1 for a z value. I can't seem to get it to go to 0 for nothing.
Using 12.2.8 xp service pack 3. I have sent in a support request.

  •  Actually it does draw it at  0 z.  I saw where it says the "normal" was at 1 z and thought it was saying that the circle was at 1.  What is the "normal" in the properties bar? I have attached a screen shot of what I mean.

  • The "normal" expresses the "plane" where the circle (and other plane entities) reside -
    it is the face-normal of that plane;
    the "Center" point coordinates are the location of the circle ... :-)
  • What is the "normal"

    a normal, is a vector that is perpendicular to a plane : )

  •  Thanks for the explanations.  Support also promptly sent me an explanation.  It all started from not being able to trim a line using a  circle.  I have had this problem a couple of times, but can't reproduce it. It is usually to do with differing Z's.

  • I also have had lines with non-zero Z, which had no reason to be there and would not trim.

    I believe the behaviour has been fixed, but I still strike them occasionally. Probably in old files.

    The cure is to Flatten all the lines in the file.
