Hi Hong Boon,
Type 'Settings' on the command line or 'Settings->Settings' on the menu, go to Display and you can change all the screen colors over there.
Another useful tip is that you can start the Settings command and just type "Color" in the search window and it will take you through all the 'Settings' control items.

Want to be able to go back and forth?
I have a lisp routine that allows you to toggle your background between black and white. Download from:

Oh my god, it is really hard to find that out.
settings - setting, skip "Drawing" and "Dimensions", go to the 3rd main branch "Program Options" --> "Display" --> "Background Color"

To find a setting in the Settings dialog, please type what you are looking for in the search field, then click the down/up arrow keys to browse the settings that match the search string. In case of the background color variable: type 'background color' and click the down arrow. Not so hard to find any setting this way.0

Type BKGCOLOR and set new value to 256
I'm still on old-school...0
