Hello Keith,
If you ask me on a Monday, I'd say yeeeeeeeeees.
But frankly, I don't understand what you say.
What do you mean exactly by a sketch? A 2D drawing, which you want to extrude? Or a specific file format?

a 2D profile that has been extruded.0

Still not certain about your question, trying to give sensible information...
To extrude, make sure sub entity selection and the quad are enabled. (You can toggle both by clicking on SUB or QUAD in the bottom right corner, in the status bar that is.) Then hover over the entity to extrude, the quad will appear, choose the extrude action.
After extruding an entity, the original 2D entity is gone and cannot be edited anymore.0 -
you sort of answered it.
i swear i remember it as part of xtools or something like that though.

Hi Keith,
If you use the commands from the menu e.g _EXTRUDE it gives you the option to retain entities, when you use Quad cursor it automatically deletes them.
You can retrieve a face by using _SOLIDEDIT _FACE _COPY (or just pick it from the menu). This extracts the face as a region, which you can _EXPLODE back to lines and arcs, or if you align your UCS you can use _BPOLY to trace around the region to create a polyline, if that's what you want. You can also use _SOLIDEDIT _EDGE _COPY to just copy individual edges.
With x-solid you can use _XEXTRACT to do much the same thing, which may have been what you used previously.
