Creating copies of entities
Occasionally I find I do something that adds a duplicate of an entity. Text / Mtext is the most common example.
I discover this when I change what I think is only a single entity and find its mate behind the other.
I have no idea what creates this so ask what is probably a dumb CAD question.
regards
Richard

Hi Richard,
You are not alone. I have seen instances of this happen as reported and shown to me before my eyes by Bricscad users in India.
Are you able to reproduce this problem? It does not always happen and is difficult to reproduce. It appears that it is not a bug but some key press of something results in duplicate entities.
Another weird behaviour some of my clients reported is that some stray ends of lines or text just get pushed to a high Z value while the rest of the drawing is in 2d. In fact, all of it should be in 2d. I was shown a 2d drawing which looks good in plan but in a 3d view you can see several objects on stilts because of a Z push. Did you encounter that as well sometime?

g'day Rakesh
agree it seems to be a combination of key presses.
But no - haven't been able to put my finger on it.
I did just make a discovery - the up arrow scrolls through the commands executed.
At least my curiosity is paying dividends.
I'll just have to take more care and watch my moves.

I still get the z-axis thing, I notice when a certain snap or a trim command won't work. Flatten converts all the splines to plines.
I had not noticed duplications until yesterday when I moved a block of mtext and there was another under it. No idea how or when it was created.
Not a clear enough picture to submit a SR.

This appeared in a dwg today.
I wonder if it has something to do with font cahnges?
I deleted a Font Style and used CHANGE to assign another text style in use.
Just a long shot, suggestion!
How does one delete duplicates?
But then I don't want to delete wrong things.0 -
No probably not to do with Fonts
But everything seems duplicated! What a Pain!
Help!!!
We really do need to be able to edit our posts, at least for a while.0 -
There is a duplicate remover in the Sofoco Tools, available in the Solutions Store. I have not tried it recently. If the Express Tools utility in the Solutions Store gets recompiled for Bricscad V13 it will have Overkill. I use the original Overkill from the Autocad Express Tools, but only because I have a file of lisp functions that came with software I bought years ago that fill in many of the functions in the acetutil.fas files.0

There is a duplicate remover in the Sofoco Tools,
Brilliant thanks. I have Sofoco installed - very useful. Hadn't realised it was there. (Thanks too Damian)
What a mess. I let it copy duplicates to another layer.
Job was half full of duplicates on several layers.
Bit of a daunting exercise executing that routine, but it looked okay at end.
Phew!!
