adding extended characters to text/ mtext

I wanted to use maths symbol 'therefore' and was hoping I could add it to the list of available in Text Formatting.
Is there a way to add custom characters here please?

I can't even find that character in a Font file in Character Map

try \u+2234 with the font set to Arial, or some other truetype font

It would be very useful to have a custom list of characters available in the drop down list when in Text Format.
I was hoping that is possible to add to/ change.
