Layout Setup

I have almost 200 Layouts. Every layout has an A3 border format as block refference (see attachement layout1)

I want to set-up all layouts on A3 format to match with my border.

How will be done?

  • Burlacu,

The answer really depends on how the drawing was originally constructed. Assuming:
    • Each layout already has an A3 border on it.
    • The A3 border is a Block.
    • Its the same A3 border block on each layout.
    Then you could:
    1. Go into the drawing explorer _EXPBLOCKS
    2. Rename the current A3 block name to match the name of the one you want to replace it with.
    3. Use _INSERT and browse to where your replacement A3 border is located.
    4. Pick the OK button to insert
    5. When prompted as to whether you want to update the current block definition select Yes.
    6. Cancel out of the command.
This should update the block definition on your drawing, and each layout should now show your replacement A3 Border. If you have attributes on the block, then it becomes more complicated. You may find BATTMAN is able to fix any issues.

If its more involved than this, then you would probably need to create a LISP/VBA routine to update your drawing.
