Properties - help screen instead

 I have a bunch of polylines on the screen that I would like to get properties of.  But there is some setting that is preventing that from being possible.  

If I select Modify>Properties, and select the polyline, I can see the properties of that polyline appear in the properties dialog for a moment, then dissappear  too quickly to read.  The default unhelpful "General - No Selection" properties are back, but BricsCad also unhelpfully opens a web browser window into it's help system.  I didn't click help, I clicked Properties. 

Same thing happens if I just click on an object - I get a new help window in my browser, instead of any useful info about that object.  This wasn't happening earlier - what is going on?  

Same thing happens when trying to use grips - I get dumped into a help menu, grips don't work. 

I can LIST an object, and get a hard-to-use listing of it's properties, read only.  What happened to the ability to select an object, and how can I turn this click-on-anything-and-go-to-the-help window off?

    Likely this strange behavior is caused by the quad cursor.
    The quad is added during V12 lifetime for easier 3D editing.
    You can toggle the quad at the bottom right corner of Bricscad.
