functionalities needed!

 HI everybody!

Bricscad reaaaaaaaly rocks!

Now we have almost everything: sheet sets, publishing, exporting to pdf and dwf, layer filters....

Is it possible to have EVEN MORE than autocad? YES.

My suggestions: (bcad fans - please add your ideas!)

JM1: Drawing Explorer should have the "layouts" icon with the possibility to copy one or multiple selected between opened drawings
JM2: Drawing Explorer should have the possibility to copy page one or multiple selected  setups between opened drawings
JM3: Drawing Explorer should have the possibility to copy one or multiple selected layer filters between opened drawings
JM4: Open file dialog box should have the left pane more customizable - possiblity to add your own locations, and reorder them as needed.

Regards!
Jacek

  • In addition to "P" (previous) and "L" (last) selection set options I want "N" (new).
That means that "N" will choose all the entities created at the last drawing or editing operation.

For example if I copy 10 circles, "P" will choose the ten original circles,
"L" will choose the last circle created, and "N" would choose all ten of the created circles.
As it is, I have to individually pick the new objects, or copy-in-place and then move "previous".
  • "N" would be really helpful, especially now a group of entities pasted into a file are not "P" anymore. That's a major step backwards.
  •  Do you, BRICSCAD TEAM, plan the implementation of autolisp and/or visual lisp "environment" tools?
  • ... copy one or multiple selected layer filters between opened drawings.

If you are using v13 Pro/Platinum (Windows) this freeware was just updated to support Bricscad.
  •  I would like to see a built in duplicate entity remover, like the Overkill command that was once available for AutoCAD via the ExpressTools.  I found the XQuickDraw command to be a huge time saver on the last project I was doing, but the duplicate lines did take a bit of time to clean up...

Interestingly, a quick Google search lead to this, apparently Overkill has been included in AutoCAD as a default tool: http://ltunlimited.typepad.com/my_weblog/2011/03/no-longer-express-tools-overkill-ncopy.html

The ability to adjust the vertices in a solid - A solid stretch command - or an option for the way that the default stretch command handles solids.  Currently stretching a solid is similar to using the move command on the solid.  It could be a huge time saver to be able to stretch a solid, use a crossing selection to select the vertices to stretch and then move them as you see fit - you would be able to make some very funky objects in no time.

And/or grip editable solids would be awesome too, if you wanted to take a cube and make it a bit taller, just grip edit it and drag the grips to resize.

  • The Overkill command is included in the free Express tools

With Drawing Explorer you can now copy Layer States, Layer settings, Text Styles, Dim Styles, etc.. between open drawings.

  • I wish the program could draw helixes so I could make true threads and  springs.   I don't have any LISP programming experience/  None of the LISP programs I located and downloaded for drawing helixes would work right with 13.2.9.

I would also like a calibration routine like that found in Autocad, so I can get accurate 1:1 printouts in both the X and Y dimensions..   Doesn't anyone but me ever print out labels?

I want to be able to import and export IGES and STEP.

Sheet metal unfolding would be nice.

A decent editor for multi-line text and dimensions, which allows me to easily insert special characters like the symbols for counterbore, countersink, spotface, etc. would be nice.  Maybe symbols for welds?

  • I would like to have the multiline text command remember the last text size used rather than base it on whatever was used on Dtext. Maybe there is already a way to do this which I'm not aware of?
