Math equations and formulas

This may not be applicable but I'll ask anyways. What's the best app for typing up nightmarish equations or formulas. Can't see doing it in Brics but maybe MS Word

or Excel would be more suitable? Just wanted to find out how everyone else is doing it. Thanks.

     The equation editor in Word is probably the simplest I have used.

    LaTeX, of course.

    There are several on-line Latex-based equation editors that offer point and click access to the syntax, which simplifies things considerably for the non-initiate.

    This expression of the Taylor series expansion \sum_{n=0}^{\infty}\frac{f^{(n)}(a)}{n!}(x-a)^n produces the GIF in the attached file using this Latex equation editor

    Or pick up a copy of MiKTeX (Windows) or MacTeX and build it locally.

    Also OpenOffice & LibreOffice have a "math" application for equations - create and then paste elsewhere.
