annotate polylines with cumulative running distances

I need to create cumulative distances (Chainages) along a polyline.

Thanks to Rakesh I can annotate the vertices, but would like to be able to set the distance between annotations.
Example - annotate at Chainage 10, 20, 30, and so on, as well as the vertices.

Is there a simple routine that does this please?

It would be good to have the annotations as simple numeric text.

Just Google "Chainage autocad lisp" you will find multiple versions for what you want. The various code have different labelling and options re chainage.
