Table Cell - Add New Line
Hello:
I am attempting to edit a table's cell and add after the text in the cell a new lineafter the existing content and then append my new content; hitting the Enter or Return key jumps the focus to the next cell. I have tried Alt+Enter (MS Excel trick to add a new line to a cell), Ctrl+Enter and Shift+Enter. Any ideas out there?
Thanks!f

Under Windows this works:
1. Click in the cell or move to the cell using Tab and/or arrow keys.
2. If the cell appears 'gripped', double click in the cell.
3. Move the cursor to the end of the existing content.
4. Use Alt+Enter to insert a new line.
5. Add new content.
6. Press enter to finish.0 -
Hi Roy. Thank you for your response, I followed your steps but something is stopping me. I am wondering, could this be a key binding issue in the OS (Ubuntu 12.10) where alt+enter is meant to do something else? I know that I am having OS key binding issues with the F10 key - I will take a look when I get home.0
