Running V13 on XP

Probably been asked already but I'll ask anyway. Has anyone had any issues running V13 on XP? Thanks.

  •  Yes I do, Tim.
In a machine running Windows XP a license was installed with no error messages at all.  It works perfectly for drawing and making other testing features, without any issues.  But... it is absolutely "not known" by computer's Windows, neither using a resourceful uninstaller (REVO).  I can't update it from 13.1.16 to a newer version.  And I just can't uninstall it thru Windows/Control Panel, and Revo as well.
  • @ Tim: No issues here.
@ Miguel: Have you tried using the installer to remove/repair the installation?
  •  Thanks, Roy.
    No change on doing it.
It returns an error message "It detects an existant BricsCAD version in the folder, and can't be overwritten.  Please install BriucsCAD in another folder."
  • I have V13 on XP and have no explicite problems with it.

@Miguel: have you tried renaming the folder before installing the new version?

    Hi Johan,

I "can" do that, but I didn't "want" to do it.  I was wondering to understand the behavior of the system.  Under my charge it to support customers who use BricsCAD also under Win XP, and I need to understand why it is behaving this way.
In fact my intervention on this thread was done just for commenting a request from Mr. Tim Neumann (on top of this page) who asked for misfunctions of BricsCAD under Win XP.

If I rename the previous installation folder, it will just stop to work.  That's not a solution for me.  A solution would be to uninstall it and reinstall in a regular way.  The problem is that neither thru Windows Control Panel, nor a speciallized uninstaller like REVO I can do it.  Windows simply is not aware of BricsCAD V13 on this machine.  But it works in an apparently normal pace.
