  • Dear Patrik
Use the 'Reposition dimension text' tool on the Dimensions toolbar to move the dimension text to the desired location.

  • Unfortunately this is as close as I get. It stops here . Is there a setting for this?

  • The DIMTMOVE variable controls how the dim text can be moved.
    Try setting it to 2:
Drawing Explorer > Dimension Styles > Select the dimension style you want to change > Fit > Text movement > Move text no leader.
  •  To place the text freely, in the Properties Bar under 'Fit' set 'Text movement' to 'Move text, no leader'.
  • Hmmm, not to good. It takes a lot of space when its narrow. Why can't you go closer with the text?  No leader looses connection.
  • The minimum distance between the text and the extension line equals:
    2*arrow_size + 1*text_offset
One way to reduce this distance is to create a custom arrow block that is n times larger than a 'standard' block, and then apply an arrow size that is n times smaller.
In the image the circle in the magenta arrow block is 4 times larger than the circle in the standard _ORIGIN block. But because the arrow size is 4 times smaller it looks the same as the standard _ORIGIN block in the other dimension line.

  • Roy,  Wow, how do you find out these things??  THANKS for the explanation I understand but this should be deafult for the moment I think I'll pass. I'm a bit allergic to tickmark blocks they turned all over the place before.  /P
