Cant open files

Hi Guys a while ago I downloaded Autode$k for a trial. I then uninstalled it. Thing is now I can only open a file from within bcad. When i recieve a dwg file it comes in as a blank giff (no bcad logo) when I try to dowlaod it i get the "this file does not have a program associated with i........................" can anyone please tell me what is going on and suggest a fix?

Cheers

  • Dear Stephen
Do the following: In Windows Explorer, right click a DWG file, then choose Open with > Choose Default Program and select BricsCAD.
  • Hi Louis, and thank you, you put me on track. Thank you. Went in to 'choose default programs 'and sorted it from there. Autode$k had changed all the defaults to Autocad light which no longer is on my computer. Talk about hijacking! I have two versions of Bcad on my computer now, a paid for one for evaluation. Could that be the reason I now have no Bcad logos on my files?

    Thanks again

  • Likely, Acad installation also changed "default icon" to its own style ...
try re-installing BricsCAD (should show "Repair" option"), this should re-establish all necessary connections.

    Many greetings !
