text mask

In autocad we can apply a "text mask" to text. the mask is the same color as the background and acts as a mask layer. When I print that text with a text mask from brics cad, the mask prints as the same layer as the text, meaning that if the text is solid, the mask prints solid so what I get is a rectangular area of black. Any ideas on how to fix this?

  • Which "Masktype" are you using; "Solid" or "Wipeout"?
  • "Wipeouts" can be selected in BricsCAD and moved to another layer from the text allowing you to apply differing display properties.

p.s. You misspelled your name ;o)
  • Mike,

Text mask is available. Either from the MTEXT editor, or via the property bar. See screen grabs.

Of course this feature is only available for MTEXT and Dimension text, not for single line TEXT :-).
