Xref Question

new to the xref world, when i attach an xref i only want certain layers to come in. is this something that can be done?

    You freeze and thaw xref layers within the 'child' file just like other layers.

    I guess you can't pre-set them before they exist, before the xref is attached.

    If layer names have something in common with others of a group you want frozen or thawed, you can refer to them as in *ABC* so every layer with ABC in its name does it at once.

    You should look at the VISRETAIN variable. As John explained, you have to freeze the xref layers that you do not want to be displayed. The VISRETAIN controls if the xref layer settings are stored.
