Paste Clip - Not Opened for Write
I am suddenly unable to use the paste clip command to paste contents copied from one drawing to another when I run the command pasteclip the program returns the message Not opened for write on the command line. An audit on both drawings was performed, no errors were returned. I have full access to both drawings (saved locally on C) and no messages appeared when the drawings were opened, all of the drawings were created in V13 and one drawing is my template that opens up by default as soon as I start the application. I have tried to restart the program a couple times to resolve the issue but I am still stuck, does anybody know the cause of this message?

Hi Scott,
Have you tried re-booting your machine? Potentially it is a file lock issue, where a file can't be written to because windows thinks it is already open. Can happen from time to time when an program error or crash means it doesn't get a chance to close files it had open. I assume copyclip is creating a file in your temp folder, and for some reason the file it is trying to write to is locked.
If a re-boot doesn't fix you can try clearing out your temporary folder.- First make sure that you don't have any applications running.
- In windows explorer type %LOCALAPPDATA%\TEMP in the address bar. This should expand to your temporary folder
- Select and delete all files & folders in your temporary folder.

Thanks Jason.I have cleaned out the temporary folder and restarted this morning and the same issue persists - it appears to be one block that is causing the issue - others will copy between the drawings OK. The target drawing already includes a copy of that same block, copying other blocks into the drawing that are already included in the drawing seems to work properly. I tried a refedit on the block in question to see if making some change would have an effect, but no dice. Renaming the block in the source drawing and then copying it to the target drawing works but this solution has other pitfalls, as soon as I change the name back to the original name and then attempt the copy the issue pops up again. I can copy the same block from the target drawing to the source drawing without any issues.0
