pdf export problems
I'm having a few problems with the pdf export function.
Circles and arces are not round anymore, but composed of straight lines, and i'm looking for a way not the export the model space, the only only options seems to be the export only the active layout, or all layouts, wich also also exports the model space.
Now i'm printing to a virtual pdf printer, but i'd like a faster way to generate pdf's.

Which version are you using?
The recent linux beta (14.2.04) exports circles and arcs as curves, and hatches as filled polygons (not as many filled triangles like V13 did).
There were lots of issues with pdf export in the past (and some remain), but there clearly is progress...0 -
windows version Version 14.1.13 revision 32754.
I figured out now how to get the circles and arcs looking likes circles and arcs by turning on "enable simple geometry optimization. Just didn't find an option to turn off the model space in the export. Who wants to export the model space in pdf anyway ?0 -
I'm not sure what you're referring to - if you use the 'export' command and choose pdf as file format, only the active tab will be exported (I agree that this hardly makes sense for the model tab). Do you rather mean the 'publish' command? I hardly used this so far, but to me it seems to work as expected:
You get a list of tabs, where you can delete the ones you don't want to include (model tab), and if you don't want to repeat the deletion, you can save the list for future use. But of course, publishing is a way to print a number of sheets, not to export them... maybe I missed some point?0 -
Yes, i could use the publish command, but that only gives me the option to print to the virtual pdf printer I installed (primopdf here)
If i do that the result is all layouts in a bunch of different pdf files.
I don't want that, i want all layouts as different pages in one big pdf file, so the customer can just open one file.
Ok, the workaround is quite simple, i export all layouts to one big pdf file, and than print to the virtual pdf printer from there, leaving the first page (model tab) out.0 -
BricsCAD V14.2 (Windows) is scheduled to be released end of this week, containing following improvement that will probably be of interest to you:
The Publish command has been extended with the possibility to redirect the output to use the PDF export functionality to produce PDF files.
An option is available to generate a multi-sheet pdf containing all published sheets.

publish to pdf works, but a few weird things happen :
Circles and arcs are not round but composed of short straight lines.
And I lost a few lines from my border of the paperspace, those are printed if i print on paper or if i print to a virtual pdf printer.
any settings I can change to fix this ?0 -
