Piping isometric add-on?

I was wondering with all the 3rd party apps that have/will be jumping onboard with Brics if there will be a utility available for creating piping isometric drawings? I know there is the Mech-Q stuff but with that comes a bunch of other add-ons along with nearly a "grand" on the price.

  • I have looked for some myself.  But, all were priced our  of my modest needs. They also had a lot of features I didn't need and I didn't want the hassle of another complex program to learn.

I ended up just making a few blocks of the fittings I typically use.

  • Probably what I'll end up doing myself. Maybe with time someone will come up with something priced within reason.

I've been doing ISO's for years and have developed a couple of tools to automate some of the more painful things, nothing overly fancy but they cut back on the number of clicks; maybe I should throw these onto the App store at a reasonable price...
  • The main problem I ran into was when I tried to make a value icon that didn't require me to break the line it was being placed over.  I.e. I wanted to make the icon opaque, so it obscured the line it was placed on.  I tried a wipeout object, but it does not work if it isn't later in the draw order than the line it should opaque.

There are excellent LISP routines for Piping Isometrics (and other disciplines) developed by Mr. Satish Lele, India (www.svlele.com). These are quite affordable too.

  • Hi Paul,

Never got around to making one. But for the record this is the pipe spool where it would have come in handy. See attached PDF.
