Comments on using Working Sets...

Hello,

I sent some personal opinion feedback as a support request regarding the use of Working Sets. Just thought I would add it here...

After beginning to make use of working sets of drawings I find myself wanting to close several files at once. I am aware of three menu options and four commands for closing:
- menu File | Close menu option, CLOSE command, (oh okay I see the help says it is an alias to WCLOSE)
- Window | Close, WCLOSE command, and
- Window | Close All, WCLOSEALL command.
- command CLOSEALL alias for WCLOSEALL but there is no CLOSEALL command listed in the command reference under "C", this is where I started looking and might be similar for most users.

I logically look to File menu for a close all option first, not sure if most users would do the same.

I know there is a SAVEALL command but I do not see it in my default menus.

I find there are often times I open a working set to make changes to a small number of the drawings, flipping back and forth between other drawings in the set, and then want to close all. I have DBMOD set to 1 and often am faced with the prompt to save each drawing when using WCLOSEALL. It might be well received by many users to have a "No to all..." and a "Yes to all..." option for WCLOSEALL save prompt.

Maybe the File menu or Working Sets sub menu cold have Save All and Close All and a Change Working Set option.

  • Ha! Just realized I forgot the name of the variable controlling the save prompt. Where I said I have DBMOD set to 1 I meant variable CloseChecksOnlyFirstBitDBMOD is set to 1.
