Blocks disappear on explode (v13, 14)

Dwgs received from 3rd party for editing (2D elec. flr plan).
It appears dwg consists of a single block on a single layer, made up of many other blocks & dwg entities.
When I explode, some of these blocks disappear.
All layers On, Thawed. Zoom extents, yet these entities have vanished.
Could this be an issue with dwg created in an Autodesk vertical product, or perhaps non Autodesk product?
Small sample attached.

  • The Block contains proxy objects; so without object enablers, exploding it will result in data loss.  Search this forum or google for options on removing proxy information.  The biggest pit fall is that your drawing will no longer be able to be edited intelligently in autocad as these proxy objects will be converted to basic objects (lines/arcs etc).
  • Ah, yes.
Made evident by setting PROXYSHOW to 2.
Also Express Tools' LIST XREF/BLOCK PROPERTIES identifies it as "Object: ACAD_PROXY_ENTITY".

    Thanks
