Display line properties while drawing

I want to be able to see the length of my line and the angle at which I'm drawing while I'm in the middle of creating the line. How do I turn on this setting? I must have turned it off somewhere accidentally.

    The setting is called DYNMODE, needs a value of 2 or 3, and usually sits as a toggle in the status bar.

    I'm not seeing the toggle for this setting. Could you be more specific about how I change it to 2 or 3?

    I was able to get "almost" what I'm looking for by setting TRACKPATH to 1.

    Is your status line visible (Shift-F3)? If yes, there is a small arrow at the right that lets you choose which settings will display in the status bar. What you might refer to is either the "Cursor coordinate values" or the "Dynamic Input" toggle.
