Customize "File Open" dialog box?

 Is there any way to customize the "File Open" dialog?

I prefer to sort my drawings by "Date Modified". The file dialog box allows me to do this, but I have to go through the various options each time I invoke the dialog box.

I have looked through "Settings" but cannot find anything that will allow me to change the File Open dialog display preferences.

Any help would be appreciated.

     Isn't it one step to click column heading of "modified" to change sorting? it is for me.
