Fading Rasters on XREF
I have an aerial raster image that is used as the base for a number of drawings. I have this as an xref in the individual drawing files.
Is it possible to fade the xref raster image differently in each individual drawing. For example:
- a site plan would have the raster shown at 100%
- a catchment plan would fade the image to highlight the details

Hi Brian,
As far as I'm aware it's not possible to fade an image that is attached as part of an Xref. To do this would require layer transparency, which is a requested, but yet to be implemented feature. There are a couple of potential workarounds that I can see:- Attach the image directly, rather than nested in an xref. Select the attached image, then on the Property Bar you'll see an option to set its level of fade.
- In the Xref create multiple copies of the image, each on a different layer and with different fade level. Then in your target drawing use layer control to turn the layer on with the image at the desired fade level.
