Why Choose Intellicad?

Lets face it, love it or hate it we all use it (or used it, or our companies use it) or we would not be posting here. And we all got it for the price. That decision may have been made with or without your input or approval but that is why we are here. If AutoCAD was half the outragious price it is most of us would be still using it. But those of us from smaller, poorer companies who do not have hundreds of work stations and are not courted and cood over by Autodesk have to get by. And to be fair, Acad R13 was so bad most people used 12 until 14 came out. Alot of the big companies have put out buggy software (probably at marketings insistance). This does not excuse Intellicad. I do not believe it is reasonable to say "what do you want for the money?" I do not expect my Ford Escort to perform like a BMW but I do expect it to get me to work and back without having to worry that the left signal sometimes signal right or that if I put on the high beems the engine might blow up. It seems appearent that the Icad's beta testing should have found alot of the things we all found the first day of digging into the program and I dont know how well or long or by who it was tested or if the results were ignored or why. So what we happy users can do is tell them what is important to us. What do we want fixed? What do we want to see new? Don't wait to be asked.J Templeton

  • I agree 100%!!!!!!

  • So do I. I have spoken about this on the CADopia forum and now I can't seem to post anything else!Odd?

  • I agree too!!! Let's not give up on Icad before it is given time to grow up more. If we do this we are also saying AutoCAD shall rule the world from now on and we are willing to endure high prices for our CAD program.Keep ICADing!!!Australia

  • 100% agree. My most favorite ACAD Reaease was R12 on Dos. It was fast and I added a lot LISP-Enhancements. R14 was also OK, but with R2000 I have a lot Problems with the new Functions. My Opinion is: It is not necessary to build in a giant amount o functions. The programming interfaces should work properly. So everyone could add the functions he like. But fore the moment programming in AutoLISP in ICAD is like a Text-adventure. Not even one of my LISP-Routines, grown up and tested very well since R10, does work without problems. ( Try this : (command "_fillet" Pause Pause) and you will be surpised ).I request: Fix LISP that it will work as in AutoCAD or, if You made changes, describe it in the manual properly!!!!!with best regardsDirk Bauer
