Rendering errors
Again, I can't get to the web site page where you can start a new support request. So, here it is on the forum.
I have two problems. One is that some text does not hide in some views, though it will in others. I recalled the old AutoCAD issue that Text (this was before Mtext) had to have a thickness setting to permit it to be hidden. But, even doing that did not help this situation.
The other issue is that any time I change the viewport layer settings, either that viewports or my entire drawing display goes gray. Changing to another tab and then back fixes the problem. But, this is starting to be a problem, since I am in the process of creating a lot of views. The error often says "unknown error", and sometimes also lists specific entities (though I can't get that to do it now so I can copy the command window).
I have an Nvidia Quadro FX580 Graphics card.
Attached is the problem drawing, with a lot of unrelated stuff stripped out.

Nice drawing .. brings back memories of crawling around a steamy engine room trying to find something like AS-345.
The viewport's visual style in the upper view is set to "hidden lines as dashed." Setting it to just "hidden" does suppress the text on the back of the box. V15 here so there may have been some tweaks but I don't see a separate setting for handling text in the visual styles config dialog.
I don't see anything like the graying-out effect. Have you run REDSDKINFO? That should dump a lot of info about your system's graphics setup, including whether the rendering engine thinks you have an out of date driver. I've had a couple of issues in the past where following its recommendations cleared up some rendering anomalies.0 -
Thank you for the catch on the text showing through. Yes, it should show if the obscured lines are set to dashed. Perhaps I should control the text visibility with layers.I think my work-around for the screen going gray is to just change the viewports to be 2D wireframe. Then, set them back to what they were.-Joe0

I did the research to try to make sure my video card was BricsCAD compliant, but there is not a large database of cards and drivers to base a decision. The REDSKDINFO command is new to me. It did recommend a different driver, so I will try that.-Joe0

Thanks for the effort, but the REDSKDINFO recommended driver did not get rid of the grey-screen problem.-Joe0
