stretch question

I need to stretch groups in a 2d drawing. To make them fit between two set points. The stretch command is not helpful at all. It only stretches one item in the group, the group seems to be loose parts after all. How can I accomplish this?

are the items in the group blocks, have you looked at the divide command instead.
