Stretch by Grips

I am having trouble Stretching e.g. a Line, by Grips. I click on a Grip and want to stretch (lengthen) the Line by 25mm. I move the mouse in the direction of the stretch, type 25. But instead of moving the Grip and lengthening the Line's end by 25mm, it shortens the line element to 25mm long. To do what I want I have to activate the Stretch command before typing 25.

Is this how it's intended to work - i.e. different to Acad? Or is there a Setting? - I can't find it.

    If DYNMODE is ON you can use the TAB key to cycle through the various dyn. dimensions. Also check out these related settings: DYNDIGRIP and DYNDIVIS.
