Printing a transparency

Has anyone else had issues with printing a transparency?  It displays correctly on the screen and I can adjust it; but when printed it is a solid black shape.  I have tried printing to different printers and exporting a PDF, same results.

    You have to change the page setup:
    Quote from the Release Notes:
    Transparency when plotting is controlled by the Plot Transparencies option in the Page Setup and Print dialog.
    Note: it is disabled by default for performance reasons.

    I just found out there is also a related variable: PLOTTRANSPARENCYOVERRIDE.
    Possible values:
    0 = Do not print.
    1 = Print if option is checked in page setup.
    2 = Always print.
