How do I make dimension text stick to the dim line ?

If I stretch a dim line, the text stays stationary and a leader is added.
I need the text to stay with the dim line unless I specifically drag it to another location.

I am running 13.2.10 for windows.

  •
: DIMEDIT
    Edit dimension:  Edit text/Oblique lines/Rotate text/<REstore text>:
Select dimensions to restore text to default position:
    Entities in set: 1
Select dimensions to restore text to default position:
• That's not what I want to do.

I want to set a variable that locks the text to the dim line unless I move it.

IE autocad used to be set up like that.

Like if you had a dimension string was too close to a building and you needed more room for notes, you could stretch it out and it would leave the text locked to the dim line. What Bricscad does is leave the text where it is and adds a leader which is what I don't want.
  • In that case: change the DIMTMOVE setting to 0.
  • Note: DIMTMOVE is a dimstyle variable. So unless you want to work with overrides you should change this setting in your dimstyle(s).
