V15 - not retaining alias or template file settings

Can't get V15 to retain a couple things, namely an alias and the template file. On the template file, when I start Bricscad after a fresh boot the wrong template file comes up when starting a new drawing. Basefile and support files are referenced correctly. I can go in manually and correct it and after that it's fine until I do a reboot on the computer and then it starts all over again. On the alias, I'll create a new one and it'll work till a re-start & then have to recreate it again. Are these instances related and anyone have any clues to get them fixed?
