Getting started guide for Solid Edge/Alibre Design user?
Hi everyone,
while looking out for a decent Linux MCAD (again), I finally came across Bricscad. Except for some UI glitches, it looks rather well and now I'm trying to find my way into it. I've seen that there are many tutorials showing various aspects of construction, but I somehow miss a "getting started" thing. Coming from Solid Edge and Alibre Design, I'm used to parametric modeling with a tree of dependent features, where I can change some dimensions any time and have all dependencies update automatically. Does Bricscad work differently, or am I just not finding the right buttons?
What I'd like most is some kind of "quick start" guide/tutorial showing the basic process for 3D part modeling, creating an assembly and exporting drawings, as that would cover just about everything in my daily needs. Maybe this already exists and I just didn't find it...
Thanks!
Best regards,
Philipp

I found a few of videos on 3D modeling from the official Bricsys youtube channel. However, these videos are not in the 3d-Modeling section but may provide some good insight too.Hopefully this helps.0

Hi,
thanks for your response. I already looked through their Youtube videos concerning most 3D modeling aspects, but without luck. But then your link
https://www.bricsys.com/tv/m/?bricscad-bim---creating-windows-m253
gave me some insight as to how this modeling thing can be done. I'm still not fully convinced that it is the right tool for me, but it's at least worth some more trying. There really are nice features in it.
Bye,
