Hide certain layers in viewport

 how can I hide certain layers just in a specific viewport?

    Double click in the VP to activate it.
    Start the _Layer command.
    Look for the 'VP Freeze' column.

    Alternatively you can use the _VpLayer command.

     Rather than hunt for the layer, I first select an object on that layer.  Then, that layer will be highlighted on the layer pull-down list. Then, you can click the icon to freeze that layer in just that viewport.
