Set by Layer (command)

 Hi!
I'm wondering if in bricscad is available command similar to set by layer (in autocad)?
If you have many blocks and you must apply for them "by layer" properties, you must to enter each block manually.

  • It seems that in Brics there is no way to do such task as "setbylayer"...
This is great feature in autocad which I regret very much that it does not exist in Bricscad V17 ;(
  •  You are right, there is no SETBYLAYER command as such. However combining QuickSelect and the Properties Bar, you can get the same result easily. See the BricsCAD Help under User Guide / Modifying Entities / Selecting Entities / Using Quick Select to learn how to compose a selection set, e.g. select all blocks. In the Properties Bar you can then see all shared properties. Properties that are currently set differently read "Varies". Click the property you want to be set by layer and choose ByLayer in the drop-down list.
  • I have created a Lisp-based implementation of this command:

  • You just saved me many hours of work. If we meet some day i will buy You good amount of polish beer ;)
    THANK YOU SO MUCH!...
