.dwl, dwl2 file creation

Is there a way to disable .dwl, dwl2 file creations?
Small office here, so little need for file locking.
(It adds clutter in file manager when navigating through drawings.)

I would like to ask the same question.  Same circumstance here, small office and file locking not needed.  Or, as an alternative, is there a way to designate an alternate file folder to handle .dwl and .dwl2 files?

Of course you do need file locking! Imagine being able to open the same drawing twice...
In older versions of BricsCAD files are locked without creating .dwl and .dwl2 files. So I think they are merely indicators for the end-user.
