Layer Manager Modality
Hi everyone,
We have many AEC customers who are unhappy with the modal nature of the Drawing Explorer when displaying Layers. Since they are heavy users of Layers, the desire is to keep the layer manager pane open on one screen whist drawing in the graphics window on a second screen.
Easy question: is there a solution for this workflow today?
Complex question: is there a way to make (at least) the Layer tab of Drawing Explorer mode-less? I am savvy enough to understand that making all functions of Drawing Explorer mode-less is a non-trivial exercise.
Thanks,
Don

V17 has introduced a Dockable Layer Explorer.

In regards to layouts. I am not certain I know what you are looking for, but layout tabs are optional, though on by default. The variable is WINDLTABS. Though, in my v14 you cannot successfully search for that in the settings dialog. Searching "Layout" will eventually get to it.-Joe0

Robert, Martin - thank you. This is for V17, found the toggle by right-clicking the left-most icon on the LAYER toolbar... nice.0

...also, from the command line: LAYERSPANELOPEN, LAYERSPANELCLOSE.0
