setting to "auto deselect" entities after command execution?

I have recently upgraded from v15 to v17 have inadvertently deleted, moved, etc. entities because the entities remain selected after executing commands (in v15 the entities, etc. are "deselected" once the command is executed). I would prefer to continue to operate as in v15 if there is a setting for this. Too many errors happening right now.

    I cannot reproduce the problem. Please file a support request and add a drawing you are having the problem with.

    Thank you for the response. I have been working on a large project, one file, for several weeks and transitioned to v17 recently. I tested this problem between v15 and v17 and was able to recreate it. HOWEVER I had not considered some sort of file issue. I did open a couple other older files and did NOT have the same problem. Thanks for sending me along another approach with the problem, I was bogged in the present.
